Preparing for a Government Contracting Reverse Trade Show

Matchmaking and Reverse Trade Show events are a great way to meet and interact with agency and large prime contractor contacts. You do NOT want to take these events for granted. Matchmaking events are a proven best practice for meeting contacts for the first time and to build on relationships that you have already started. This session will address some of the ‘tools of the trade’ for preparing for matchmaking events including Advanced Research, Customized Capability Statements, Elevator Speech, Probing Question Strategy and more. We may even put a few of you on the spot and do some role playing.

Subcontracting & Teaming

One of the pathways to success for small businesses pursuing government contracts is to partner with other small or large businesses in order to deliver services to the government. Most commonly, these agreements are in the form of a sub-contract, teaming agreement or joint-venture agreement. There is also the SBA’s “All Small Business Mentor-Protégé Program” which can be a great opportunity for small business owners. This workshop will help business owners at all stages of government contracting better understand and be better positioned to take advantage of these agreements.

Winning the Contract: Marketing & Selling to the Government

Success in government contracting is still rooted in marketing best practices such as research, target markets, target accounts, differentiation, value proposition, and effective pricing strategies. This session will present best practices in marketing and pricing your business including a marketing framework for you to use in your business and a review of the basic pricing considerations. Jenny is also a Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) expert so she will address pricing from a compliance perspective as well.
